Firstly, the Bible also teaches that divorce is sin (although many Christians still do it). So, my point of view assumes that marriages also should not be ended by divorce.

Secondly, yes, anyone can walk out of any relationship, but there are more strict legal provisions for the ‘left behind’ partner and children if the two were married.

Thirdly, yes, cheating still happens, but if two people enter into a relationship and it is clear that both had values of monogamy and chastity, then there is less room to doubt fidelity.

Can you specifically point out passages where it says that divorce is a sin? There are a lot of things that are sinful in the Bible, not just divorce. Homosexuality is a sin according to the bible, is it not? Do you think homosexuality is wrong?

I also suggest that if you’re going to base things around teachings in the bible, you go and read 1 Timothy 2:11-12 and 1 Corinthians 14:34. If you’re going to deny those two passages, then you’re being selective in what you believe, and what you think should be allowed, so other people are also allowed to be selective. By the logic you’ve basically given me (It’s in the Bible!), the law is wrong in how many rights women receive.

Marriage doesn’t really change anything except legal status, IMO. If I enter a relationship with someone, I expect them to be monogamous with me (unless otherwise stated), regardless of whether we are married or not.

Who the fuck is this douchebag?

“I almost shudder at the thought of alluding to the most fatal example of the abuses of grief which the history of mankind has preserved— the Cross. Consider what calamities that engine of grief has produced!” - John Adams

“No man shall be compelled to frequent or support any religious worship, place, or ministry whatsoever.” - Thomas Jefferson (from the Virginia Act for Religious Freedom)

What’s the point? OH. The point is that this country shouldn’t have a single law that reflects the prejudice of your fairy tale bullshit biblical nonsense. This country was founded on the separation of church and state, with LIBERTY. The root of the word liberty comes from the word LIBERAL. What’s that mean? Well it means that we should be bound by no fascist, religious bullshit you fucking retard. SO get the fuck out of this country if you want to rule some shit with your goddamn idiot fucking religious lies.

Furthermore, anyone who debates a point by citing scripture is a mindless sheep. This shit is a fucking BOOK. OK. Not the actual word of any god. It’s a goddamn book written by crazy fuckers over 2000 years ago. It’s a cosmic JOKE. It’s A GOD DAMN JOKE. A JOKE. THE JOKE IS ON YOU. THE BIBLE IS A LIE.
